All About Me

My name is Ellen Boyle. I am a grade 11 student at The Linden School living in Toronto. I have lived here my whole life and have always had an interest in art. Toronto is a great place to be surrounded by art. Growing up, everywhere I went I was exposed to different artist and different styles of work. I think that had a big influence on my growth as an artist. Art is very important in my family so I had both the influence from my family and as well as beyond that in the outside world where I specifically learned how I could follow my own path as an artist. I started drawing and painting as early as elementary school. Once I started middle school, I began to be introduced to all these different styles of work. This is when I really started finding out who I am as an artist and what styles of work I enjoy the most. As I moved onto high school, projects started getting more centered around expanding our knowledge and making sure we were focusing on the art styles we were interested in.

I use art as an outlet for self-expression. My art pieces often reflect feelings and things going on in my personal life. I love art because any piece can be interpreted in so many different ways. Everyone sees art differently and every art piece speaks to everyone differently.
